Week of June 12

The film festival was very well executed. I have only been to one another, but I don't remember much of it. I am unsure whether it is because the students were in Magnet as opposed to the other years, but most films show ample work and effort within the work. The students showed a variety of ideas and interest was demonstrated. The projects show that the filmmakers had an idea and worked with their resources in order to produce their artwork. Some films showed dedication and others seemed rushed. The audience responded much more positively to comedy films, but also praised the films that were obviously well thought out.

Week of may 22(It's Already Friday?!)

This week was somewhat productive, somewhat unproductive. I edited the footage that I have and realized I need to film some more because obviously MY FILM IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH AHHHHHHH

Week of May 1

Our group was finally able to turn in our project that needed to be edited and fixed. 

I was able to work on more questions and film some more. I have looked at my work and realized that I need more time to finish. I have made a to-do list of things I need to accomplish by Friday, May 8, although I won't be able to finish by the due date of the second project. 

Week of April 24

Unfortunately to technical difficulties, our group, VELSKN, were unable to submit out project on time. We had to import the footage from the trash and re-edit the film. The producer, Lizette, was able to determine what footage was absolutely necessary, and so the editing became easier. Editing took most of the week.
I have continued to research more on my subject and edit my existing footage. I plan to do more filming this weekend and be done with most of it, so all my editing will be done next week. I will be done by the due date.

Week of April 17

Throughout the week, our production company(Velskn) was able to amount some things. We were able to film some more and edit that footage. The editor did her work, and was able to add captions to the Spanish dailogue.
For my personal project, I was able to organize more my questions for my upcoming interviews with cancer survivors. I have started on my third film to use time wisely, since this documentary will not advance without those interviews I plan on doing in two weeks.  

Week of April 10

During this week, we were able to continue filming. After every footage, the editor did their work. We have decent work, but there is obviously always room for some more improvements. As director, I can say we will be done by next Thursday or Friday, April 16 or 17.
For my personal projects, I have gathered more footage for my interview and will continue to do this weekend. I can be done filming and editing by Monday, April 20, 2015.

Week of March 27

Our production company is Esteban, Steven R., Lizette, Nathaly and Karla. One of the members, Nathaly, checked out equipment, and began filming in Downtown LA. We all decided on a name for our production company, Velskn.
My separate project consist of a documentary and I have started gathering information(questions) for my interviewees.
