My dogs are my antidrug. Animals, in general, keep me sane. The love I have for them outweighs the inability to be proud of humanity. I have found profound happiness in my dogs. I am the "dog lady". It is has become part of my identity. But I don't know what it is about dogs, or any animal. The sight of one makes me feel a little insane, though. I feel like a child all over again.
